Graduation Documentary

Studio Centre’s GRADUATION DOCUMENTARY is a fun, unique way to commemorate your time at Penn State in a format you will watch and re-watch for the rest of your life – and requires only 30 minutes of your time.

Students arrive at Studio Centre’s professional set (conveniently located downtown State College) at a pre-scheduled time and answer a series of scripted questions designed to elicit a natural, dynamic performance while covering a narrative arc.

Questions are sequenced to build comfort and flow naturally in a 30 minute session, starting with lighter icebreakers before moving to college memories, future dreams, personal quirks, and ending on a reflective/fun note.

The result is a professional-feeling “time capsule” of your college experience – in a way photographs can’t replicate – delivered physically and digitally. This format will produce compelling, re-watchable mini-documentaries that graduates (and their families/future kids) will treasure for decades.

… and that’s it! Leave us your contact info and we send you the finished, fully edited product within 30 days.

Your documentary will be filmed from multiple angles with state-of-the-art cameras, with student/parent vocals captured by Shure SM7db microphones, under professional studio lights, on a Penn State-themed set. You receive unlimited non-commercial use of the documentary – you can make your own copies, post to social media, share with family and friends, or bury it in your backyard for future archeologists.

Your documentary will be fully edited – sound, color, story, the works – then made available for digital download in 30 days or less, with the additional option of two physical copies mailed to an address of your choosing.

The cost is $349 for digital copies only, $399 for an additional two physical copies (thumb drives) sent by certified mail. We recommend you bring your cap and gown if possible. You are also welcome to wear whatever you prefer – something you’d like to see yourself wearing a few decades from now.

What else should I prepare?

Nothing! Having a few anecdotes in mind might help, but the process and questions are already designed to optimize your performance and future enjoyment.

Can I bring other people?

Absolutely – your interview can be watched off-camera through the set window by friends and family, with plenty of places to sit/relax, and/or you are welcome to have one or more of them join you on camera. The studio can accommodate recording up to four people.
